Eliminate the Obvious First

I know that this may come across as if I am belittling you. It is not intended that way. It is intended to help you resolve your printing problems.

If you do not see a light on your computer's printer, check to see if your printer is turned on. If the printer is on, and you still do not see the light, then check to make sure you have a good power connection at both the wall plug and on the back of the printer.

I hate to say it, but even I have been guilty of simple oversights such as these. It is nothing to be ashamed of.

I have been known to troubleshoot a problem for hours, only to discover that I skipped one of the most basic checks such as a power supply plug-in. I should know better, but I have done such silly things much more often than I would care to admit.
